Biography

My professional experience encompasses senior executive leadership of high growth technology firms and legal representation of organizational and individual clients in private civil law practice. I currently serve as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Operations and General Counsel at AtlasRTX, a leading provider of conversational AI engagement solutions (a/k/a "chatbots") for organizations committed to delivering an exceptional real-time customer experience. Previously, I served as Vice President of Operations and General Counsel at APiO, Inc., a FinTech company where I led the creation and operation of an online marketplace for insured trade finance assets. I was General Counsel for a multi-state litigation law firm headquartered in Los Angeles where I also managed 12 litigation teams across the USA and over 100 support staff in India, as well as a portfolio of over 300 active litigation cases. I have been Of Counsel at Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough in Salt Lake City, the largest law firm in Utah, and also served 5 years as outside General Counsel to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association and U.S. Ski Team. Over the past 20 years, my work has alternated between practicing law and building successful technology startups, beginning with Attensity, where I was CEO and President from 2000 to 2006. I drove Attensity's vision of unified analysis of text and structured data ("text analytics") which is now used widely by government intelligence and security agencies and Fortune 500 companies, and was awarded 6 US patents related to text analytics. I subsequently served as CEO of NexTalk, Inc., where I led development of its telecommunication solutions for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. I was named one of 50 Worldwide Reader Favorites in Fast Company magazine’s Fast 50 Global Readers’ Challenge. I received both my Juris Doctorate and my Bachelor of Science degrees in Philosophy, with honors, from the University of Utah, and was admitted into Mensa.
