• Born in South Texas to the late Dr. Thomas Esparza, Sr. and Esther LaMadrid Esparza. They always will be my teachers and mentors. Without their guidance growing up, I would never have accomplished anything. They taught me that to read, to be a leader to learn & do anything.
• Graduated Texas A&M (1974 Gig’em) and the University of Texas Law School (1977 Hook’em). I'm a former high school teacher who went to law school to I try to save the world. • I've been Travis County Justice of the Peace president of the Capital Area Mexican-American Lawyers, Chairman of the Becker Community Advisory Council. 1986 Austin Community Education Volunteer of the Year.
• I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association and National Lawyer’s Guild Immigration Law Project. Past Chair of the AILA Texas, past Chair of the Austin Commission on Immigrant Affairs.
• I've lectured & published for U.T, the TEXAS Bar & Travis County Bar, AILA, English & Spanish newspapers & the web at tomesparza.com, FACEBOOK AVVO Youtube.com
• I own Starlightpress.com publishing bilingual materials to schools & adults with co author & mom, Esther LaMadrid Esparza.
• I'm happily married to Geralyn Sue, father of just graduated from St. Eds twins & a proud grandpa from my son and his wife.
• I honor of Laurier McDonald, Attorney of Edinburg, Texas, a pioneer in immigration law in Texas. Also, Bob Shivers,, Harry Gee, Charles Foster, & Harry Joe were all mentors for me. However, I would've been lost without best man & friend Adan Vega of Houston
