Mr. Chad Van Horn
AV-Rated, passionate representation by a leading attorney that gives back
I am Chad Van Horn, Esq., a business leader in South Florida and the founding partner attorney at Van Horn Law Group, P.A. My approach to life and work integrates dedicated philanthropy, spirited entrepreneurship, and legal acumen. I utilize my resources and extensive network to assist others, whether through my board leadership at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, fostering startup ventures that boost the local economy, or practicing bankruptcy law to offer solutions to those facing economic challenges.
Volunteering and entrepreneurship are significant aspects of my life, but my role as the founder of Van Horn Law Group, P.A. has also earned me considerable recognition in the legal field. I have been a Florida State Bar-certified attorney since 2009 and began my journey in bankruptcy law as a law clerk in 2007 while attending law school at night. My strong work ethic quickly helped me make a name for myself, leading to the establishment of Van Horn Law Group, P.A. I founded my firm with the goal of better serving individuals and businesses across South Florida struggling with debt, foreclosure, and loss. My legal knowledge is not limited to bankruptcy; I am also highly proficient in various areas of law, including business and real estate transactions, commercial and real estate litigation, loan modifications, and landlord-tenant disputes.
My contributions to the legal system have been recognized by both clients and peers alike. I am honored to have received the AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating from this esteemed online information and rating service for attorneys nationwide. This accolade reflects my dedication and commitment to excellence. Van Horn Law Group is just one of the many successful entrepreneurial endeavors I have pursued.

- Q. My husband and I paid for a chapter 7 bankruptcy but never ended up filing, can I get the money back from the attorney?
- A: Did you sign a retainer or engagement letter? If so, you should review that to determine your rights. If the fee is non-refundable you would not have a right to get it back but the attorney may work with you on a partial refund.
- Q. Can I file bankruptcy if I have a judgement against me that I can't afford to pay.
- A: Absolutely. Judgments are one of the main reasons that individuals chose to file bankruptcy. You may want to move quickly as once the creditor receives the judgment, they can engage in post-judgment activities like garnishment or seizure of assets.
- Q. Can I apply for a loan and still file for chapter 7 if I am denied the loan?
- A: Applying for the loan will have no impact on your bankruptcy filing. This happens quite often as people try to avoid bankruptcy by getting a consolidation loan.
