Summary

Carmen Dellutri is the Founder and President of the Dellutri Law Group, P.A. He is certified by the American Board of Certification Consumer in bankruptcy law. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court and Family Law Mediator and a Qualified Arbitrator.

Carmen has qualifications that we could list for days but it's his personal stories that drive him to be the best. Carmen is not just an Attorney, he is a family man. His wife and children are his daily "why".

He is especially passionate about seeking justice for victims of Drunk Driving. Carmen was not only involved in a hit-and-run accident as the victim himself to a drunk driver during law school but he also lost a very good friend to a drunk driver.

While living in Tampa, his best friend came to visit him. While heading back home, his friend was killed when a drunk driver was traveling the wrong way and struck his dear friend head on. Stories like this are endless, and he is fighting everyday to help.

2 Questions Answered

Q. How do I change my address with the Bankruptcy Court. We moved after filing Chapter 11.
A: The answer to your question depends upon whether you have an attorney or not. I cannot see how you can navigate a Chapter 11 without an attorney. Either way, there is a simple form for you to fill out. Normally, your attorney can do that when you call their office. We use electronic filing, so that when a client calls to let us know that they are changing their address, we complete the form, send a copy to them by email, and file same with the court. In jurisdictions where they don't use electronic filing (I don't know if they even exist anymore), the document can be filed by mailing same to the Clerk of the Bankruptcy Court.
Q. I never saw a judge?
A: I would like to know more about this. It seems kind of interesting to me that your attorney did not take the time to explain the process to you or the time-frame involved in the Chapter 7 process. Normally, a Chapter 7 debtor is only required to attend the Section 341 meeting of creditors. The meeting of creditors usually takes place within 30 days of the filing of your case (times vary depending upon the jurisdiction). In Southwest Florida, our firm handles the rest of the Court appearances for our clients. In other words, there is usually no reason for you to appear in Court.
