Mia S McPherson

Mia S. McPherson holds 20 years of experience as a Public Defender, Local Prosecutor, private criminal defense attorney, and fierce family law advocate. Mia began her career in 1998 as an Assistant Public Defender in DuPage County, defending DUI cases, misdemeanors, and felony cases.

From 2006-2008, Mia was employed by Kubeisa, Spiroff, Gosselar, Acker & DeBlasio, P.C. of Elmhurst, IL, a law firm dedicated to all aspects of municipal law. Mia worked tirelessly for the City of Elmhurst, the Village of Oak Brook, the City of Oakbrook Terrace, the Village of Westmont, and the Village of Wayne as the assistant prosecutor, and then as the lead prosecutor handling ordinance violations, overweight truck violations, and traffic matters. Mia continues to be the Local Prosecutor for the Village of Wayne.

Mia further provided services as the DUI prosecutor for the City of Elmhurst and the Village of Oak Brook, handling all aspects of the caseload, including, but not limited to: witness preparation, statutory summary suspension hearings, pre-trial and post-trial motions, plea negotiations, 402 conferences, bench trials, and jury trials.

In the family law arena, she uses her extensive experience in the courtroom to further divorce negotiations to reach amicable settlements whenever possible. She is well-versed in the new divorce laws and has proven a worthy adversary in hearings on Orders of Protection, Child Custody (n/k/a Allocation of Parental Responsibilities), and divorce.

In 2009, Mia formed The Law Offices of Mia S. McPherson, P.C., where she continues her practice today. She has built an extremely successful business from the ground up and prides herself on treating each client as if they were a member of her own family.

Mia received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Purdue University in 1995. She furthered her education by attending DePaul University College of Law, Chicago, Illinois, graduating with her Juris Doctorate in 1998.
