Megan Rue
Cofer & Connelly, PLLC
Megan is an associate attorney at Cofer Connelly. She practices criminal and family law in Travis and surrounding counties. Megan is a native Austinite and graduate of the University of Texas School of Law. While at UT, Megan’s work focused on protecting the civil rights of vulnerable people. She represented asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence, and children accused of criminal offenses.
Megan clerked for the Special Litigation Division at the Public Defender Service, where she assisted in a wide variety of litigation seeking to protect the rights of criminal defendants in the District of Columbia. During her second summer at UT, she interned at the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, where she worked on nation-wide litigation to protect the rights of low-income individuals and families.
Megan is on the National Executive Committee of the National Lawyers Guild, the first racially-integrated bar association in the United States. She is involved with the Guild’s efforts to provide legal representation to community activists.
