Max Ruthenberg-Marshall
Focusing on low-conflict divorce.Max Ruthenberg-Marshall practices Family Law for the Modern Family®, working with families whose needs are not well served by traditional law firms. Max advocates for clients of all identities and family structures in divorce, custody, child support, legitimation, prenuptial and postnuptial agreement, adoption, contempt, and temporary protective order cases. Max also serves as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem, representing the best interests of children in contested custody cases, and is a registered domestic relations mediator. Max maintains a strong commitment to pro bono work, taking cases through Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (DVLF), and Atlanta Legal Aid. Max is the VP of Membership for the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, and is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, DeKalb Bar Association, Cobb County Bar Association, and Stonewall Bar Association. Max received her J.D. from The George Washington University and her B.A. in English from the University of Maryland. Max is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the California State Bar. When not practicing law, Max enjoys reading for book club, attending Atlanta United games, and testing new cupcake recipes. Each year, Max raises money for cancer research and treatment through Swim Across America by participating in open-water swims. Max lives in Decatur with her partner, Kevin, and their two cats, Freyja and Lorna.
