Matthew Keith Mobilia
An experienced trial attorney, Matthew Mobilia is the principal attorney and founder of The Law Office of Matthew Mobilia
Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Mr. Mobilia received his B.A. in politics from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, and his law degree (J.D.) from Albany Law School in 2015. He is admitted to the New York State Bar.
Straight out of law school, Mr. Mobilia worked as a New York City prosecutor. Under the tutelage of Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon, he gained hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience charging and investigating homicides, burglaries, robberies, driving while intoxicated (DWI), narcotic and drug crimes, gun crimes, sex offenses, and financial crimes. Perhaps most significantly, he took numerous prosecutions to jury trial and bench trial, “first-chairing” cases all the way to conviction.
After four years at the District Attorney’s Office, Mobilia moved from the prosecution table to judges’ chambers. He was appointed as an Associate Court Attorney to the Honorable Matthew P. Blum of the Kings County Civil Court. As a court attorney, Mobilia oversaw hearings and trials and drafted judicial opinions in the areas of No -Fault litigation , commercial landlord/tenant litigation, civil litigation, and small claims. The experience gave Mobilia valuable civil knowledge to pair with his criminal expertise. It also offered a unique, firsthand perspective on how judges — not just prosecutors — go about making decisions on cases.
In 2022, Mobilia opened The Law Office of Matthew Mobilia. The office blends Mobilia’s civil and criminal background, and the lessons learned from DA McMahon and Judge Blum, in the service of a new venture: representing litigants in the five boroughs who find themselves facing criminal charges, family court actions, and other civil disputes.
