Baltimore City Police Department, et al., A class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of current and former African- American Baltimore City Police officers. The allegations in this lawsuit suggest that African-American officers continue to be subjected to disciplinary charges and termination in situations where many of their Caucasian counterparts are not. The city of Baltimore filed a motion to dismiss in February 2005. The motion was fully briefed, and on May 22, 2005, the City’s motion was denied in its entirety. At that time, Judge Davis also ordered the parties to commence discovery on class certification.
