Matt McFarland
We help injured victims and their families.
Matt grew up in Goodlettsville the son of a lawyer and grandson of a school principal who then re-invented herself as a lawyer in retirement, so it was pretty inevitable that Matt would also end up a lawyer. Predictably enough, he also has a younger brother who is ALSO a lawyer.
Matt graduated from Tennessee Tech cum laude with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a minor in math. After working as an engineer with a global HVAC company, Matt realized engineering wasn’t his passion. He then went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, spending his 3rd year practicing in court as a sworn Attorney General through the school’s clinical program.
Matt has spent his entire legal career representing injured people. Whether they were hurt on the job, in a car wreck, or injured through the negligence of another, Matt has taken their case to trial if necessary.
In addition to his law license, Matt earned the rank of Major in the Tennessee Army National Guard and serves as Judge Advocate General. He spent 10 years defending Soldiers accused of misconduct or misappropriating property and now serves as the Brigade Judge Advocate to the 194th Engineering Brigade in Jackson, TN.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys walking with his wife and two daughters, if he can get his daughters to stop playing “hoppy-scotch” long enough to walk a straight line. Matt is a long-time Vols and Titans fan, and master of 3 dogs: Odessa, Independence, and Radar. His spirit animal is Ron Swanson.
