He understand the nuance of Dependency Court and know many of the judges and Assistant District Attorneys, minors counsel and staff.

Legal Knowledge: Excellent

Dependency Court is a very serious court because the Court can remove children permanently from the parents home and put them in foster care or up for adoption.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

Each case is different in complex ways. For example the parents are often divorced and step parents in the home are accused by teenagers of inappropriate sexual conduct to avoid discipline , not realizing the consequences. Skill in cross examination of minors is a very difficult task and requires legal skills that are learned and honed. Matts skills are razor sharp.

Communication Skills: Excellent

Explaining the pleadings to the parents and the overlap with potential criminal charges makes communication crucial to correct decisions.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

Matt always puts preserving the clients family staying together as the most important outcome and ethics play an important part of balancing all the possible outcomes.
