Mark Tyson Daniel

With two decades of criminal defense and business law experience, Mr. Daniel aims to help landowners, farmers, brokers, wholesalers and retailers understand the secret recipe to forming a legally compliant cannabis business model by doing the right thing at the right time. To keep up with the constant evolution of the cannabis industry, he collaborates with other lawyers, CPAs and tax professionals. Spending the majority of his time in courts defending his clients’ rights and businesses, he offers myriad services to startups, from entity formation to intellectual property protection to sourcing.

Upon completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University, Mr. Daniel earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. While working as a senior assistant capital defender with the Capital Defense Unit for the Western District of Virginia, he gained significant trial court experience.

Mr. Daniel is associated with the Virginia State Bar, the Supreme Court of Virginia and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Tyson serves as President of the Cannabis Business Association of Virginia (501(c)6) trade organization, whose mission is to work with the General Assembly and other stakeholders to frame reasonable cannabis legislation in Virginia. Tyson actively serves on the Virginia Criminal Justice Commission and is a member of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
