Mahendra Mohanlal Ramgopal was admitted by the Supreme Court of Guyana in September 1979 ,to practice as a Barrister-at-law . He was a State Counsel in the Chambers of the Attorney General of Guyana from 1979 to 1984 . He appeared in the High Court of Guyana and the Guyana Court of Appeal representing the Government of Guyana as a lawyer engaged in trial and appellate practice. In September 1986, he was admitted to practice as an Attorney and Counsellor at Law in New York State. In 1987, he was admitted to practice in the Southern
and Eastern Districts Federal Courts in New York. On May 26th 1992 he was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States on a motion by the Solicitor General of the United States, the Honorable Kenneth Winston Starr. In 2002, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals .
From 1986 to 2013, he practiced predominantly criminal law in New York City, where he was on the Indigent Defense Panel. He also engaged in the general practice of law including immigration, matrimonial and real estate law.
In 2013, he relocated to Stuart, Florida where he now practices predominantly immigration law.
