Absolutely fantastic! I am an active duty E-6 Technical Sergeant in the Air Force, stationed in Shaw AFB, SC. I cannot say enough how impressed I am with Mr Mangan. I was facing an Article 120 with multiple specs and an article 128. He reviewed the facts, the evidence, and the testimonies of everyone involved. He kept in mind that I was going through a divorce and custody battle, as well. He was extremely knowledgeable on the law and was able to strategically examine and cross examine witnesses so that we got what we needed and more from them. Something that was extremely important to me is that Mr Mangan made it very obvious that he cared about me as a person, not just another client. He kept me up to date, was understanding and inquired about my other struggles, and he listened to what I had to say and took it into consideration as needed. Mr Mangan did what every good attorney should do and he realized that I knew this case backwards and forward, so he was sure to take what I said and use it if he found it necessary. Mr Mangan no doubt saved my 12 year active duty Air Force career and I cannot thank, praise, or recommend him enough for it. There is a joke that 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name- well he is without a doubt part of that 1%!

Excellent legal representation Sean Mangan is an excellent lawyer and I am honestly very grateful to have him representing me. I would find it hard to believe there is a lawyer who could compare to him on both the military and civilian side of things, he is very wise and he is excellent at defusing a situation and getting around to peoples better side. Personally I felt like he was very invested in my case and he actually cares about how the case affects you and your family. He is very thorough and dedicates the appropriate amount of time to you and your situation. Honestly I can’t put into words how great he is but being represented by him is literally a privilege. Thank you Sean Mangan.

Q. How far from base can you live? My ex is stationed at JBLM WA and "moved" to Michigan.
A: Several things govern where a service member may reside. Local policies will dictate how far from the installation an individual can be. These "local pass" rules effectively set a distance limit that service members must stay within and must seek approval (a "mileage pass") if they exceed it. Additionally, service members may have provisions in their current assignment orders dictating where a service member may live while assigned to a particular unit. This is important because it implicates the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) that the service member is entitled to. It is important to remember that every assignment is different. There are many times that a service member is assigned to a unit at one installation but is authorized to perform duty somewhere else. For example, when I was a military judge I was assigned for to a Washington DC-area organization (the Army Trial Judiciary) located at Fort Belvoir, but my orders authorized my place of duty and residence in the JBLM area. Without knowing all the details of your ex-husband's assignment and orders (and possible authorized modifications) is is impossible to answer your question with certainty. ... Read More
Q. I been married for 19yrs and have been a Military stay at home mom and my husband is decided he doesn’t want me anymore
A: You are absolutely entitled to more than just child support. Your military spouse is likely going to receive a military pension, which is a considered to visible property, and you will be entitled to a portion of that property in the divorce process as you would any other piece of property such as a house or investment fund. I highly recommend that you retain an attorney who specializes in military benefits for the resolution of your divorce case. In the meantime, I would recommend that you contact his chain of command, and request that he be ordered to provide interim support to you during the ongoing divorce process and separation.
Q. If I am a former prisoner at a military correctional facility am I allowed to contact other former inmates?
A: It depends on the conditions of your release. For service members who served a longer sentence (those over 10 years and usually those over 20) there is the possibility of early release through a parole system. When released, those individuals may carry similar conditions on release that limit who they have contact with. If you served your sentence fully and was released, then normally there is no prohibition on who you contact with. (However, there may be other orders/authorities from the military or other jurisdictions, depending on your case, that could impact you.)
