Lisa Durham Taylor
Durham Taylor LLCLisa Taylor brings a unique skill set and perspective to her law practice. She began her career as a lawyer in the Labor & Employment Law Practice Group at Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, Georgia, where she represented Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of employment law matters. Among many other things, she litigated claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, and the FMLA; she drafted and litigated claims related to restrictive covenants in employment law contracts; and she advised clients on such tricky personnel matters as reductions in force, employee leave requests, employee policies and employee compensation schemes. Although her future at the firm was bright, Lisa heeded the call to teach when it came knocking, and spent the next eleven years as a full-time member of the faculty at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. While at AJMLS, Lisa taught courses in Civil Procedure, Employment Law, Contracts, and Remedies. In addition, she published six articles in major law review and gained experience as a speaker, not just inside the classroom on a weekly basis, but outside of it as well, presenting at various conferences and CLEs. Lisa brought together the experience she gained in BigLaw and the intellect she honed through more than a decade of law teaching, and combined them with her competitive and entrepreneurial spirit, to form Durham Taylor LLC in 2015. Through DT Law, Lisa provides employment law services primarily geared toward small and mid-sized businesses, litigation consulting to other small and solo lawyers, and appellate representation. Lisa completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University in a self-designed program of study through the College of Arts & Science's Independent Major Program. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she competed in moot court and served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Georgia Law Review
