Q. License reinstatement Illinois?
A: Your question cannot be answered with a simple on-line answer. My strong suggestion is that you contact an attorney in Illinois whose practice is concentrated in the area of administrative Sec of State hearings and can guide you. Once you have been denied, the denial creates additional issues that you need to address over and above the normal application process. Good luck in getting this resolved.
Q. In the state of IL, do I have to be present in traffic court if I have a lawyer?
A: Not necessarily if you have a valid reason for not being able to be present. A lawyer would provide you with an Affidavit and would be able to assist you in most circumstances without the need for you to be present.
Q. Do I qualify for possible court supervision on a MUST APPEAR IN COURT TICKET for going 20 over the speed limit?
A: Yes you are - however, you should be represented by legal counsel to accomplish this.
Q. Will my license be suspended?
A: Hire an attorney who regularly practices in Lake County to avoid any problems with your record/license.
Q. I got a ticket for expired registration in a company work truck, going to a job site.
A: Unfortunately, as the driver of the vehicle - you are responsible.
Q. My first dui was a felony can I get supervision on my second one in the state of Illinois
A: No. A prior DUI disposition - anytime in your life - including supervision, probation, conditional discharge bars you from being considered for supervision in the future.
Q. I live in Illinois and I have 3 DUI convictions July of 2018 will be 5 years since the last one
A: I assume that you are indicating that you had a five year revocation and that you are eligible to be considered for reinstatement in 7/18. Please be aware that if you have 2 or more convictions you will first be required to drive on a restricted driving permit for 5 years with a BAIID device.
Q. If you get cited for driving under the influence while traveling abroad - can a US license be revoked here?
A: Under Illinois law a license can only be revoked for offenses that occurred in this State, another State, a local ordinance or a military installation in this or any other state.
Q. I got a registration ticket in Dec. I didn’t pay it, they gave me 2 months.I still can’t pay. Is my license suspended?
A: A Failure to Pay will result in a stop on your license but not a suspension. However if you are stopped you could be charged with driving without valid driving privileges. Go to the clerk's office and take care of this matter immediately. If you still can't pay you can file a motion and ask the judge to give you additional time to pay.
