
Kumudha N. Kumarachandran
Kumudha Kumarachandran handles Maryland family law matters including divorce, custody, child support, paternity, adoption, guardianship, third party visitation, and Child In Need of Assistance (CINA) matters. She also assists foster parents and educators with CPS Investigations.
In 2015, Ms. Kumarachandran was named amongst the "10 Best" by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. In 2017, Ms. Kumarachandran was recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the area of Family Law, an honor achieved by only to 2.5% of attorneys. She recently received this recognition again for 2018. Also in 2017, the National Advocates selected her as one of the Top 40 under 40 in Matrimonial and Family Law.
In May of 2017, Ms. Kumarachandran was selected by the Maryland State Bar Association as one of only 15 lawyers to participate in the 2018 Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy.
From the Fall of 2015 until the Spring of 2017, Ms. Kumarachandran served a two-year term as one of only five fellows of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. The fellowship allowed her to participate in nationwide family law legal education conferences and develop contacts with nationally known experts in family law.
Ms. Kumarachandran currently serves on the Military Law Committee of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. In that important role, in May 2017 Ms. Kumarachandran attended American Bar Association conference in Savannah, Georgia and lectured to attorneys from around the country on the complicated subject of the 'Survivor Benefit Plan" aspect of military retirement division.
