Kristen Senkyr
While in law school Kristen worked in the Family Law Clinic at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law). During her time in the clinic she was confronted with the reality of the makeup of the modern family. She encountered everything from grandparents raising their grandchildren to unmarried parents with custody and child support issues. Having grown up during the era in which the nuclear family of the past began morphing into something that looked quite different, Kristen found herself drawn to the area of family law. She saw the challenges faced by modern families as they strive to actually live day-to-day with a court-ordered visitation schedule, or how difficult it can be to support children in two households. Kristen saw the importance of helping modern families develop custody plans that work in real life. She strives to develop unique and truly workable solutions for each individual family.
Kristen received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2009, Kristen earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law).
Kristen is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Smith County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Smith County Bar Association, the Women’s Section of the Smith County Bar Association, and the Smith County Young Lawyers Association (SCYLA). She is a past president of SCYLA and a graduate of Leadership Tyler Class 30.
