- Q. What legal steps can compel the installer to fix or refund a stairlift installed unsafely?
- A: I am sorry to hear about the situation with your stairlift. Since all other avenues to resolve the issue has failed, it is in your best interest to speak to an attorney regarding a potential lawsuit for breach of contract in addition to any potential action for your injuries sustained as a result of potential negligence in the installation/design of the stairlift.
Wishing you all the best.

- Q. Being sued for an accident caused by another driver in New York, what steps should I take?
- A: Hi there. You should immediately contact your insurance company that insured your vehicle at the time of the accident. They are typically obligated by contract to provide you with no cost legal defense for the accident and they are generally required to indemnify you (pay for damages up to your policy limits in the event you are found liable for the accident). It’s best not to wait, as your insurance company needs to retain counsel right away to respond to the lawsuit within a certain timeframe. All the best to you.
