Katherine A. Young has been a resident of East Tennessee for over twenty-five years. Her practices focuses on employment matters, the probate of estates, and the preparation of Last Will and Testament packages for clients.
Typical employment matters handled by the firm are: discrimination claims and preparation of charges of discrimination, litigation for employees terminated in retaliation for complaints of legal violations or whistle-blowing, non-compete agreement reviews, reviews of severance packages, wage and hour or overtime claims, and unemployment compensation hearings.
The firm also handles the probate of estates in Knox and all East Tennessee counties. This includes probate litigation for will contests. The preparation of Last Will and Testament packages (including a Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, a Living WIll and a Master HIPAA release) is another area of practice.
Katherine previously taught at the University of Tennessee as an Assistant Professor for five years and additionally for four years as a Lecturer. She also has been a Human Services Hearing Office and a Human Rights Investigator for the State of New Mexico. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and California (inactive). She is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Tax Court, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the Middle District of Tennessee, and the Southern District of California.
