Biography

I have been a practicing attorney since 1973. I used to handle a wide variety of legal matters for individuals and families. At present, my practice is concentrated in consumer bankruptcy.

In addition to our main office in Chicago, we also have offices in Skokie, Schaumburg, Naperville, Joliet and Gurnee, Illinois.

I am married with one son who is married, living in California, and who is a practicing attorney working for the State of California.

I am a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Bankruptcy Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. I am an active participant in the Bankruptcy Panel of Pro Bono Program of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS), which provides legal assistance to persons unable to afford a lawyer. I have also received two distinguished awards for service to Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.

When not practicing law, I am an avid bicyclist, riding 8 to 10 hours weekly and a licensed cycling coach, training and coaching more than one dozen cyclists.

2 Questions Answered
Q. My wife and I filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in August 2019. Can just one spouse file again?
A: Chapter 7 is not available to you until August of 2027 since Chapter 7 can only be filed every eight years.

Chapter 13, a consolidation of your debts, may be possible depending upon your budget.

The best thing you can do is contact an experience Bankruptcy attorney in the county in which you reside.

I wish you all the best.
Q. I have a chapter 13. I am not able to make this monthly payment. I have a financial emergency. will my case be out
A: Generally, a Trustee won't file a motion to dismiss with one payment missed. You will need to make up that payment.

It can easily be done by adding some money to your next payment and doing so each month til you are caught up.

I hope that helps.
