Joseph Whittington

As an attorney at Rodriguez & Associates, Joseph understands that personal injuries have a devasting impact on clients’ lives and the lives of their families. That’s why he works tirelessly to ensure that insurance companies see his clients as people, not just claim numbers. He has successfully recovered millions of dollars for clients in a wide range of cases, including multi-party car crashes, pedestrian vs. auto cases, motorcycle crashes, wrongful deaths, slip and falls, products liability, and civil rights violations. Joseph works with a hands-on approach to securing positive results for each person.

Born and raised in Bakersfield, Joseph graduated from Garces High School in 2004. He earned an athletic scholarship for swimming and attended UC Berkeley where he was a four-year varsity member of the UC Berkeley Men’s Swim Team and Captain of the 2008/2009 team. Joseph earned All-American honors four times and swam in the United States Olympic Swim Team Trials in 2004 and 2008.

Joseph grew up with family members who also practiced law. His father is a lawyer who practices in Bakersfield, specializing in real estate law, and his grandfather served as a Kern County Superior Court Judge. While in college, Joseph worked for a law firm in Oakland, California, where he quickly established himself as a tenacious advocate.

Joseph graduated from Cal in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in the Globalization of Business. He earned his JD from Western State College of Law and passed the California Bar Exam in 2013.

When Joseph is not in the office, he likes spending time with his wife, Katherine, four-year-old daughter Ellie, and two-year-old son, Michael. You might see Joseph running early in the morning out on the bike path or at Hart Park.
