Joseph James Raetzer

With a solid foundation in M&A, securities, and corporate transactional law, I offer commercial advisory services and legal counsel. I am licensed to practice law in the State of New York and have over two decades of professional experience. My clientele includes corporations, both public and private, as well as venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds, alongside high net worth individuals.

Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in various start-up, legal, and commercial projects, demonstrating my ability to develop and implement complex engagement and transaction models. My work spans multiple industries and crosses international borders and cultural barriers.

From May 2006 to August 2013, I was a Corporate / M&A Lawyer at Clifford Chance US LLP in New York, NY. There, I maintained a corporate and M&A practice with transactional and regulatory experience, representing leading global financial institutions in a wide array of complex, multi-billion dollar international and domestic business deals. My clients included investment banks, publicly traded companies, private equity funds, and hedge funds. I worked closely with principals to ensure their objectives were met promptly.

Earlier, from June 2004 to May 2006, I served as a Structured Finance & Corporate Lawyer at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP in New York, NY. My practice was primarily focused on multi-billion dollar corporate and asset-backed securities transactions.

Since September 2013, I have been the Founder and President of various startups in WA, NY, and TX. I have launched and co-founded multiple startups, including an online subscription box service that expanded to a customer base in 19 countries, a retail chain that grew to over a dozen stores nationwide, and an online/retail hybrid company that offers freshly butchered whole cows through a national distribution channel.
