After completing law school at the University of Virgina and then a one year appointment as a law clerk in the United States Federal Court, I began practicing with a large law firm in Norfolk, Virginia. I was fortunate to train under several extremely talented trial lawyers. Hard work, persistence and being prepared for anything were the core values of our practice, and I have practiced with these same qualities since founding Pierce Thornton with my partner in 1997.
I represent individuals and families in cases ranging from medical negligence injuries or wrongful death to traumatic brain injury caused by a negligent truck driver or business owner.
The mission is to represent my clients with total commitment to delivering justice through tenacious and ethical representation. I take only a limited number of cases, which allows me to devote considerable time and energy to preparing the case for trial. My team keeps our clients informed of how their case is progressing and reassures them that we are working to resolve their case as quickly and favorably as possible.
I consider myself so fortunate to have served hundreds of clients here in Tidewater. Nearly all of my clients have come to me on referral from my former clients and their families or from attorneys who entrust me with the important duty of representing their friends, colleagues or family members.
The most gratifying part of my work is helping an individual or family put their lives back together after they have suffered a great loss or injury. Helping the injured or grieving to achieve a sense of justice and closure during the darkest moments of their life’s journey gives meaning, motivation and gratitude to me each and every day.
