- Activities: Mr. Stephenson is a member of the American Society of International Law, the American Bar Association (Sections on Business Law, International Law and Practice, Real Estate and Energy and Environmental Law), is a past Co-Chair of the Committee on International Secured Transactions and Insolvency, a past Chair of the International Law Section's Mexico Committee and of the International Financial Transactions Committee, and is a former Council member. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association (Sections on Corporation and Business Law, International Law past Chair of the Section, and Real Estate), and the International Bar Association (Sections of Energy and Natural Resources and Business Law Banking and Business Organizations Committees). Mr. Stephenson is the Chairman and President of the United States - Mexico Law Institute, Inc., a New Mexico not-for-profit corporation whose activities, related to legal issues involving Mexico and the United States, are conducted in cooperation with the Mexican Law Committee of the International Law and Practice Section of the American Bar Association and the University of New Mexico School of Law. He has been a member of the Bi-National Board of Directors of the United States - Mexico Chamber of Commerce and is a past President of the Southwest Chapter of the Chamber, based in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Stephenson is a past trustee of the International Bar Association Foundation, Inc. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the International and Comparative Law Center of The Center for American and International Law.
