Jennifer N. Brannon
Senior Attorney and Guardian ad Litem
I graduated summa cum laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice before relocating to Norman, Oklahoma to attend school at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. I began my legal career as a volunteer at the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office in 2010, and in 2011, I became licensed as an intern and immediately practiced in the courtroom. I received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and became licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma in 2012.
After law school, I continued with the DA's Office as an Assistant District Attorney in the juvenile division handling criminal prosecution as well as dependency actions for children who had been abused, abandoned, or neglected. I was the prosecutor assigned to management of the Oklahoma County Family Drug Court Program as well as practiced almost daily in the courtroom in hundreds of hearings and trials. I have collaborated with Child Welfare Workers, Law Enforcement, Medical and Mental Health Professionals, Educational Professionals, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and Guardian Ad Litems throughout her practice.
I moved to Atlanta in early 2016 and became licensed the same year. I practiced as an Associate Special Assistant Attorney General in Cherokee County handling dependency cases. In March 2018, I joined Meriwether & Tharp due to an interest in family law. Since joining the firm, I have handled numerous divorces, custody cases, legitimations, child support cases, juvenile court cases, domestications, and prenuptial/post-nuptial agreements. I am also a mother and a stepparent, so I have first-hand knowledge of many of the issues my clients face and approach these situations with experience and understanding.
I am also serving as a Guardian ad litem to represent the children's best interests in family law cases as well.
