Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Mr. Bernhardt was a patent associate in the Silicon Valley office of Heller Ehrman LLP and the San Francisco office of Dorsey Whitney LLP. During law school, he was an Agreements Manager at both the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and The Johns Hopkins University, where he drafted and negotiated technology transfer agreements. Prior to that, Mr. Bernhardt conducted basic research on the molecular mechanisms of glutamate receptors at The Johns Hopkins University and co-authored several scientific publications in prominent journals.
