Summary

I not only practice international law in the US, but in 2017-2019 I have spent two years living and working as the senior counsel in the Middle East, advising C-suite executives on quarter-billion-dollar PPP projects. My clients either live in the US and doing business abroad, or they are foreign nationals investing in the US. I have experience in international business transactions in Canada, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. I also represent clients in federal court, having been admitted to several federal courts and a trial bar in the US.

Our law firm has been set-up to represent clients effectively and remotely for a number of years. This is not a brand-new COVID-related adjustment for us.

As for my personal bio, I have lived or spent months at-a-time in the Ukraine, Italy, France, Cyprus, Mexico City and other incredible places around the globe. It is so wonderful when I get to meet my clients in person and for the first time long after I began to represent them, but simply because our paths have crossed in their locale. Safe to say, I love to travel. I also love, live and breathe pickleball. I am out on the courts playing every single morning (7am start), unless I have a conference call with you (smile).

Q. Can I hire international contractors for video content creation for my online only business?
A: Yes. A business can tap into sub-contractors' labor and may solely rely on sub-contractors. It signifies that you do not have much control over their work. A good overview of what factors would be considered an independent contractor v. employee can be found here- https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/understanding-employee-vs-contractor-designation As for one off projects or projects on the intermittent basis, you hire such labor as subcontractors and pay them per project. Such work relationships do not usually cross the line into the employee category.
