Jan de Groot
Dutch business lawyer in the Netherlands
Hi, my name is Jan Willem de Groot. I am an attorney in the Netherlands, Europe.
I have practiced as a Dutch attorney-at-law for 35 years.
As an attorney in the Netherlands, my practice focused on Dutch - and international commercial contracting and liability issues, including giving strategic advice and conducting litigation (before practically all the Dutch courts) and arbitration.
I have gained extensive experience in handling commercial disputes, particularly Dutch court proceedings with an international dimension.
I am the founder and CEO of the Dutch Law Institute, established in Amsterdam. The Dutch Law Institute is publishing an online English guide on Dutch contract law, Dutch employment law, Dutch business law and litigation in the Netherlands. This legal guide is edited by a number of selected experts on Dutch law. With this publication, the Institute intends to increase the accessibility of Dutch law.
In addition to these legal services and outreach activities, our legal affairs bureau and research institute pursues a number of other activities to promote the accessibility of these areas of Dutch law.
