Biography

I have been practicing family law for more than three decades. It is my goal for our legal team to provide each client with individual attention because each client and each case is different, and I enjoy the personal interaction with a client and working towards successful completion of each case to the benefit of each family.

I have seen a need to specialize in parental alienation cases which has led to an overall greater experience in child custody cases.

Secondly, I have specialized in complex divorce matters involving significant assets, business assets, determining complex income issues of executives, self employed, or those in the military for child and spousal support purposes.

Q. What type of motion should be filed to protect my daughter?
A: What does leaving your daughter in the hands of someone not verified mean? Do you want a court order that your daughter may not be left in the care of any third party without your agreement? You can certainly ask for such a court order, but whether you will get such relief depends on what kind of support you provide for your request. If you provide a history of questionable or bad daycare providers, the judge may consider your request. If you just want a blanket order because you are concerned about the boyfriend, the judge may deny your request because the judge already prohibited unsupervised contact. An attorney who has experience with bringing motions with a similar fact patterns can provide you better estimates if you can win a motion, and any such attorney will likely tell you that you need to have the attorney draft a well written motion. ... Q. I’m looking for a motion to modify divorce decree, but not pertaining to child support, custody, or parenting time
A: Most court's have a physical legal assistance center that you can visit or you can always visit the Michigan online assistance center: https://legalassistancecenter.org/
Q. Can my son's father make me drive hundreds of miles or even out of state for his sport event?
A: Life changes and amendments to parenting time orders are common. In an ideal world, when you discussed the wrestling enrollment, you would have agreed to enrolling him with the stipulation that you'll amend the order to include a limit to how much you will drive to sporting events. At this point, you can still file a motion requesting that provision to be changed. Keep in mind that if you refuse to go to the weekend sporting events, you may end up in a dispute regarding parenting time. Will you forego your parenting time on weekends that your son has an out of state wrestling match? That may hurt your bond with your son, who then ends up supporting your son during events that your son loves and when your son really needs the love and support from a parent. Just a consideration. ... Read More
