Q. When did you work with this lawyer?
James and his firm represented a landlord against my client (tenant) in a lease dispute in Fayette Superior Court. We also worked together on a case involving a restaurant owner seeking bankruptcy protection. Both those cases were in the past three years. There have been numerous times we have consulted regarding real estate/ bankruptcy/ criminal matters.

Legal Knowledge: Excellent

I have always been impressed with James' knowledge of Georgia real estate law, federal bankruptcy law (and Georgia state law governing exemptions) and probate law. What is especially impressive to me about James is that he is admitted to practice in other jurisdictions, such as California and Texas. He was one of the few attorneys in our qualified to give advice to clients with legal matters that cross state lines.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

James knows the "black letter law" but also understands the law' s practical implications.

Communication Skills: Excellent

James does a good job of explaining to co-counsel and clients the possible outcomes of litigation. A good attorney knows the law. A great attorney can explain the law to others.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

I have never had any reason to question his ethics or professionalism.

James is a local lawyer in the community and I've known James for over a decade.

James and I largely work in different fields of practice. I know James to do good work, so when I have a client who has a real estate issue I will often refer them to James.

Q. When did you work with this lawyer?
I do not recall a specific date, but I refer clients to James on a regular basis. My primary area of practice is family law, so it is not unusual for me to have a client who may need help with an issue concerning real property. I can say I have referred cases to James as long as I've known him (2009-2022).
