Biography

JD Hays is a wrongful death attorney, death doula, and grief guide. He combines his hard-won civil litigation experience and his training in serving the unique needs of people affected by a wrongful death to ensure that those who have been affected by the unimaginable can find a way forward. He has served on the governing boards, executive committees, and faculties of various trial lawyer organizations and training programs. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Public Justice, a non-profit law firm battling systemic injustice and oppression, and serves on the faculty of the Trial Lawyers College. He has hundreds of hours of training in group facilitation, storytelling, grief care, communication skills including nonviolent communication, right speech, mythology and storytelling, and oral advocacy.
