Gorky Jordan
Peruvian lawyer Gorky Jordan started studying law at the age of 19 at the University of Huanuco Hermilio Valdizan in Huanuco, Peru. He achieved first place in general studies and second place in first year law school; after two years, he moved to the University of Lima and graduated with excellence. His thesis, titled "Unofficial Law in the Informal Commerce Sector in Lima, Peru" was cited in various scholar articles. After graduation, he started a private firm helping low-income individuals with civil law, then was called to be part of the public sector as Attorney for Legal Management of Public Records Superintendence (SUNARP). Then, Gorky worked as an Assistant Attorney for National Prosecutor Dr Jorge Garcia Trece, where he spent three years dealing with complaints against the Republic of Peru. After that he became a Public Defender for a Peace Court where he defended cases in civil and criminal law, which led to a World Bank Project involving how public records can protect informal property rights. In the US, Gorky worked in the law offices of Daphne Maria Peret in the area of personal injury. He continued studying and earned a master’s degree in public policy. In the US he earned a Paralegal Certification from the Professional Paralegal Academy at Los Angeles Valley College, graduated as Valedictorian and is a proud disciple of Oxonian Jonathan Arnold, Esq. In 2016, Gorky registered in Los Angeles County as an LDA. He currently holds a PLC (Professional Leadership Credential) from Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), a Certificate of Negotiation from Harvard Law School PON, a specialization in California State Planning from CALDA, and is currently enrolled in the Program of Mediation through Harvard Law School and is admitted to Queen Mary University of London in the master’s in international public policy
