The Town Attorney is the official charged with ultimate responsibility for all litigation and ensuring compliance with all aspects of municipal law and provides advice and counsel on all aspects of municipal government, including land-use (planning, zoning, environmental review), labor/ personnel issues, real property taxation, (i.e., tax collection, in rem foreclosure and RPTL Art. 7 tax certiorari), code enforcement and contract negotiation and execution; provides legal services to the Supervisor, Town Board and each department on various matters, as needed, including monitoring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations as necessary.

Served in the Environmental Protection Bureau and represented the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Responsible for all aspects of civil and criminal enforcement of environmental laws and regulations, including: criminal and civil investigation & prosecution of hazardous waste regulations; conducted Grand Jury investigations; conducted civil and criminal trials; wrote civil and criminal appeals; reviewed and commented on proposed legislation; coordination of multi-party litigation; counsel to client agency, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Specialized in issues relating to SEQRA (State Environmental Quality Review Act), solid waste, storm water and wetlands.
