- Q. If my drivers license was sespende in Iowa can I get Fl. Drivers license
- A: You cannot receive a driver's license with full privileges in Florida until your suspension period has expired and you have complied with the driving restrictions. Iowa will electronically report your conviction to Florida's Department of Highway, Safety, and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), which will then require you to comply with various restrictions. You can learn more at the DHSMV driver menu website: http://www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/help.html and even check your driver's license status.
Best of luck,

- Q. My dui was over 10 years ago, in Florida I was required to have an IID. After all this time would I still have to get it
- A: Yes. The Department of Highway, Safety, and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) will require you to show proof of installation in a motor vehicle that you designate as your primary vehicle, at the time you request your driver's license. A "P" will be placed on your driving record which alerts officers that you are required to have an IID in your vehicle if your are the driver.
More about the IID can be read at the DHSMV website, http://flhsmv.gov/ddl/IID.html .
You can check the status of your driver's license at the DHSMV website, https://services.flhsmv.gov/dlcheck/ .
