Erik Steven Johnson is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with a unique passion for defending the legal rights of his clients. His particular legal experience includes, but is not limited to: driving under the influence (DUI), domestic violence, hit-and-run accidents, drug-related offenses, theft (both petty and grand), and sex crimes, among many more. He is committed to providing the best legal representation to his clients, and maintains a high percentage of client satisfaction, thanks, in part, to being detail oriented.
Mr. Johnson is an honors-scholarship graduate from Saint Mary's College, where he received a bachelor's degree in political theory. He has a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Santa Clara University and was awarded both the CALI and Witkin Award for Excellence in Criminal Law. He received his initial criminal practice training at the Santa Clara County Public Defender's Office. It was here that he worked on misdemeanors and felonies alike, including rape, child abuse/molestation, and identity theft. Mr. Johnson also worked for a large criminal defense firm on high-profile cases before opening his own practice. In addition to his criminal work, Mr. Johnson worked for a very large civil litigation firm. This experience gave him insight into many areas of the law. As an attorney, Mr. Johnson is a steadfast advocate in court who has built a good rapport with Bay Area Superior Court judges and attorneys alike.
Mr. Johnson is a member of the State Bar of California (including the criminal law section) and the Santa Clara and San Mateo County Bar Associations. His education and experience have given him particular skills in legal research and argument. In his free time he is a jazz pianist who also enjoys reading, water skiing, and fishing.
