Biography

Emily attended Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2021. While in law school, she served as a law student ambassador and as the President of the Chase College of Law Public Interest Group. She also spent time working for the law library circulation desk as well as a student worker for the Lunsford Academy. Before studying law, Emily earned a Master of Science in Safety, Security, & Emergency Management and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University. Emily is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri.

Emily worked as a Staff Attorney for Legal Aid of the Bluegrass. In this role, she drafted and reviewed pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other documents, researched and analyzed laws and decisions that were rendered on similar cases, assisted attorneys with court hearings and client interviews, and filed and maintained important information and records. Before this, Emily worked as a Staff Attorney for the Department of Public Advocacy where her work included representing indigent criminal defendants in District Court. Emily also gained experience in law school working as a legal intern, helping her develop and round out her legal skills. Prior to law school, Emily worked as an EMT and a Volunteer Firefighter for several years before deciding to pursue law. Upon graduating law school, she also worked for two months as an intern in South Africa for a human rights organization in Cape Town helping to formulate public policy. She looks forward to helping her clients get back on their feet and work towards a brighter future.
