Biography

My focus in representing clients, is to help clients realize the best future for their families. The things that have happened in the past, and that brought you to my office, are important and are important for me to know and understand. However, throughout representation I am going to keep you focused on realizing your best future, and not focusing on the past.

I have personally been involved with most types of family law cases. I am divorced, and I have remarried. My husband and I each have children with prior spouses, and have had to co-parent with them. I know that some people are easier to co-parent with than others. I have been personally involved in Modification of Child Custody and Modification of Child Support Cases. I know what you are going through, and I want to help you through the legal system with as little damage to your wallet, and the best future life for you and your children as possible. Give me the opportunity to talk to you about your options. Let's find the best path forward for your situation.

I created the Family Law Information class taught at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in partnership with Gwinnett Legal Aid in 2015, and I remain active in teaching the class. I am a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars for family law matters. I was appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia as a mentor for the Transition into Law Practice Program. In 2014, I was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Atlanta Legal Aid Society for my work with the Gwinnett Pro Bono Project and Gwinnett Legal Aid. In 2015, I was selected to participate in the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL) Leadership Academy Class. Presently, I am the Vice President of the Gwinnett County Bar Association. In 2017 and 2018, I was recognized by Atlanta Legal Aid for providing more than 50 pro bono hours to the Gwinnett Pro Bono Project, which is part of Atlanta Legal Aid.

I guide clients through the family law courts, to help with their divorce, child support establishment or modification, custody establishment or modification, enforcement of a prior order, and stepparent adoptions. As the divorced and remarried mother of a blended family, I truly understand what my clients are going through when they need to navigate the court system. I'm happy to help you, your friends, or colleagues understand the process, and represent them for the best possible results.
