Dean Greenblatt

Dean Greenblatt is an attorney licensed in Michigan and Florida. Dean holds single, multi-engine, instrument, glider and seaplane ratings and has over 4000 hours flying as an Airline Transport Pilot, flight instructor and professionally for the USAir Group and Kitty Hawk Inc.


A graduate of Michigan State University, and a magna cum laude graduate of the MSU Law College, Dean is a part-time professor of Aviation Law, twice elected Chairperson of the Aviation Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan; Commissioner and Vice-chair of the Michigan Aeronautics Commission by appointment of Governor John Engler; maintains licensure in Michigan as a broker of aircraft and real estate; serves on the Board of Directors of Child and Family Services of Michigan, Inc., and volunteers with Operation Good Cheer.


Dean concentrates his law practice in individualized professional legal services, including: Aviation Law, Business Litigation, Collections, Criminal Defense, Firearm Issues, and Real Estate Law.


Typical aviation cases involve defense of airmen, aircraft operators (including drone operators), and mechanics against FAA enforcement; criminal defense of drone operators; the first civil suit nationwide against a local government's ban on drones (Michigan Coalition of Drone Operators, Inc. v Genesee County); federal civil litigation on breach of contract for an airline client; and, representation of a national airline in personal injury litigation.


Typical firearm-related cases involve criminal defense; recovery of seized firearms; firearm trusts and representation of firearm manufacturers and retailers, criminal record expungement; criminal defense; right-to-carry civil litigation including landmark Michigan cases (Capital Area District Library v. Michigan Open Carry; Michigan Open Carry and Michigan Gun Owners v. Grand Rapids Convention and Arena Authority; Michigan Open Carry v. Clio Area School District).
