Dean and I first met as opposing counsel on several cases. I was always impressed with his knowledge, courtroom demeanor, and willingness to fight for his clients. After a couple of years, we decided to join our firms and have been colleagues since that time.

Earlier in our careers we routinely found ourselves on opposite sides in litigation. Since our firms joined, we have worked together for the benefit of mutual clients.

Between 2017-2019 we were often opposing counsel, although there were a few cases where our interests aligned. Beginning in 2019, our firms joined and have been colleagues since then.

Yes

Dean is incredibly knowledgeable about both the law and procedure. Importantly, he is always able to find creative solutions to problems that escape most other attorney's I've worked with. He is also a fierce advocate for his clients.

Legal Knowledge: Excellent

Dean was one of the few attorneys I would go to for advice when I needed advice regarding a legal matter earlier in my career. His knowledge of both the law and procedure has always been impeccable.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

Dean has an incredible ability to simply complex legal issues to get great results for his clients. It is not uncommon to face unusual issues that both the attorneys or the court are unfamiliar with. Dean has a reputation of being able to navigate those issues.

Communication Skills: Excellent

Dean is not only incredibly personable, but he is able to break down complex issues in a way that makes sense for both the court and his clients. Communication is an underrated aspect of the legal profession, and I've encountered few attorneys better than Dean.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

There is no doubt that ethics and professionalism are a central component to how Dean practices. As an attorney who opposed him at times, I could always trust him when he made representations to myself or the court. Too often, you have to be worried that attorneys will try to shirk that responsibility. His honesty and integrity is a large reason he has developed such a strong reputation in the community.
