Dayne was pleasant to deal with when I was a prosecutor. He recognized issues I did not, called them to my attention in a non-confrontational manner, and negotiated favorable outcomes on the cases. We have jointly represented clients, and when I was a prosecutor, I opposed Dayne.

1/5/2018 to 5/21/2020. We took a case together than began in January of 2018, and we still have a few pending.
Q. Was this lawyer an effective advocate/counselor and why?
Yes

Simply put: Yes. Dayne is extremely knowledgeable and a people person. He is the quintessential jack-of-all trades when it comes to the field of criminal law. Dayne can try a case, negotiate, and advocate effectively in a plea on the trial level. He is also one of the best appellate lawyers I know. I, being a criminal law practitioner, am not comfortable referring cases to other criminal lawyers with the exception of two or three lawyers. Dayne is always the first on that list.

Legal Knowledge: Excellent

I take a lot of pride in my own legal knowledge, but whenever I have any questions, Dayne is my first and last call. His legal knowledge is second to none.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

Dayne, upon reviewing discovery once, sees all of the issues, where the case needs to go, what avenues his client's should explore, etc.

Communication Skills: Excellent

He does not duck phone calls. Dayne is often busy, but he always finds the time to communicate if you need help whether that be a call after hours or an early morning (1-4 am) email response.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

I have often consulted Dayne on ethical issues. He can cite rules and language without reading the book. As for professionalism, he is very likable even if you are the opponent. Dayne knows he has a job to do, does not take things personally, and effectively handles cases cordially even if it comes to a trial situation.
