Waste of time and money When meeting Mr Brown, we wanted to believe the good reviews, however, we are now out $1500.00 and should have believed the negatives. Mr. Brown has been a no show to court on 3 out of 5 occasions - greatly lengthening the time the kids haven't been seen by their father - the opposite task Mr Brown was hired to do. He made great promises of being able to easily resolve the issue, told great stories of being respected and feared in family court....how when you show up 2 out of 5 times? Mr Brown should have been honest with us...and with himself- he's washed up. His health affects his ability to do the job, can barely climb the courthouse steps. Barely speak to the judge without being out of breath. No communication - expect to chase him around by phone and email. When we fired him, his front desk lady said "I don't blame you". We had to find out he wasn't coming to court from the other party's lawyer - didn't even bother texting his client. We got the excuse of being sick, got the excuse of not being able to find contact information ( except it's on every court paper sent to his office ). We were told he couldn't attent court because he was in the hospital ... I called and asked to speak with him, only to have his desk staff tell me he couldn't talk because he was in court. Save yourself the time and Money - Don't Hire.

Q. Am in Chapt 13 no longer have atty. Want to sell coop have buyer.Worth $6000. Can I sell or will trustee take money
A: It really would depend upon when your case was filed and in what court. About a year and a half ago the Eastern District of Michigan adopted a "model" plan for all cases. the model plan requires court permission to sell the asset. If your case was filed under a previous plan, you may not need court permission. That being said, I would suggest getting an order of the court permitting the sale.
Q. Is there public record to see if someone has filed bankruptcy?
A: Bankruptcy filing information is available through PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records). This is a paid for service and is available for free at any bankruptcy court, but you have to physically go there.
Q. Do I need a lawyer for Bankruptcy one that also includes years of unfilled tax returns both federal and state.
A: Typically filing a bankruptcy with an attorney is advisable. Depending on the amounts of tax liability you may want to consider a Chapter 13 (repayment bankruptcy). should you file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy the amounts owing on unfiled returns would be non-dischargeable, meaning that the bankruptcy would not eliminate them.
