David T. Podein

David Podein is a partner with Haber Law and has been with the firm since 2009. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate and construction law, condominium and community association representation, commercial leasing, secured financing, and business and commercial litigation.
A substantial portion of Mr. Podein’s practice involves representation of community associations in the financing, approvals, and contract negotiation for multi-million dollar capital improvement, repair, and/or building upgrade projects. Additionally, Mr. Podein represents real estate developers, investors, joint venture, lenders/servicers, and landlords in connection with real estate related transactions, including commercial and shopping center leasing, landlord tenant negotiations, long-term ground leases and development agreements, distressed asset based transitions, and loan work outs and restructurings. Mr. Podein handles all aspects of commercial and residential real estate and loan closings (including title review, issuance of title insurance policies for owners and lenders, and closing agent services). Mr. Podein is a licensed title agent and provides title insurance policies for the property buyer and lender. Mr. Podein is a member of Attorney's Title Fund and he provides these title services in association with underwriter Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.
Mr. Podein also serves as outside general counsel to companies located in South Florida. Mr. Podein’s experience in both litigation and transactional matters enable him to offer a broad and practical perspective to his clients.
Mr. Podein received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 2005, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Podein interned with the Honorable Judge Gill Freeman in the Complex Business Litigation Division of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
