David Andrew Burkhouse
Pessin Katz Law, P.A.Mr. Burkhouse is a partner at Pessin Katz Law, P.A. His practice includes labor and employment litigation, education law, construction, and business litigation. Mr. Burkhouse represents both public and private sector clients regarding a wide array of litigation-related issues. Mr. Burkhouse also counsels employers on legal compliance issues including wage/hour policies, reasonable accommodation of disabilities, and employee discrimination issues. As an active member of the PK Law Education and School law practice, Mr. Burkhouse has litigated cases for a number of the firm's school board clients in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, as well as the State of Maryland's Circuit and District Courts. In addition Mr. Burkhouse routinely participates in administrative proceedings before the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings involving claims under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. As part of Mr. Burkhouse's employment law practice he counsels and represents employers regarding employment discrimination claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. Mr. Burkhouse also advises employers with regard to non-compete agreements, restrictive covenants, arbitration agreements, trade secrets, confidentiality agreements, and employee hiring and termination procedures. Prior to joining PK Law, Mr. Burkhouse served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Dennis M. Sweeney and the Honorable Timothy J. McCrone in the Circuit Court for Howard County. He also served as law clerk for the Forensics Division of the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where he assisted with the criminal litigation of various emerging issues in forensic science.
