David Alexander Lawson III
Dr Lawson has over 40 years of experience in international legal matters, today focusing on acting as Arbitrator or Mediator in international commercial and financial disputes. From his firm’s office in Geneva, he advises both corporate and personal clients in all types of international transactions and cross-border disputes. He is also interested and has written on legal ethics and the rules of deontology as applied across jurisdictional borders. Dr Lawson obtained a Doctor in Philosophy in Law (D.Phil) from Oxford University, specializing in choice of law theories and practice, as well as the Hague Academy Certificate in Private International law. His initial professional work was in the field of high-energy physics, and taught reactor physics for six years at the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School in California prior to switching to the law.
