Danielle GruppChang
SENIOR ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
Danielle L. GruppChang is a passionate advocate for workers’ rights and a seasoned attorney specializing in wage and hour class actions. Raised in a family where both parents worked in the restaurant industry, Ms. GruppChang developed an early respect for the hard work and resilience of the Californian workers. This background exposed Ms. GruppChang the struggles of working-class individuals sparked her dedication to fighting for justice on behalf of workers.
Ms. GruppChang’s professional journey began when she started working at a local coffee shop and continued throughout college where she worked tables, often serving her classmates. These experiences further resolved her commitment to protecting employee rights. She understands firsthand the importance of being properly paid for all time worked, lawful meal and rest breaks, and adherence to wage and hour laws—values she carries with her into her legal practice today.
While attending law school at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, Ms. GruppChang served as the chairperson of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team, where she discovered her deep passion for advocacy. Ms. GruppChang has represented Californian employees exclusively, never employers, which allows her to focus on the interests of the working class with unwavering dedication. She has served as class counsel and PAGA counsel in numerous high-profile cases throughout California, helping secure millions of dollars for employees in industries ranging from hospitality to retail. Ms. GruppChang takes immense pride in the results she’s achieved for her clients, always handling each case with individualized attention and respect.
Outside of the office Ms. GruppChang loves spending time with her husband, two daughters, and chiweenie Lady. She is an avid gardener, specializing in growing giant zucchini and herbs which she loves to share with her community. Her other hobbies include pottery, reading, and cooking.
