I first met Chris Walsh when I was an intern at the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office. I now work with him as an associate at Walsh Law.

I worked with Chris as an intern during the summer of 2021. Since November of 2023 I have been working with Chris as an associate at Walsh Law.

Chris Walsh is an incredibly effective lawyer and leader. When I was an intern working at the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office, I observed Chris argue motions for very serious felony cases. The manner in which he conducted himself was the most professional and persuasive I have ever seen. He was kind and courteous, yet steadfast in his pursuit of justice. He led the office by bringing out the best in all of the deputy district attorneys.

I witnessed Chris Walsh explain complicated legal issues in court as a prosecutor. Now, as a defense lawyer Chris utilizes his 16 years of experience as a prosecutor to the benefit of every one of his clients.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

With his extensive legal knowledge gained from years of experience, Chris can quickly ascertain the core legal issue in any criminal matter. What could take some lawyers much longer to find in a complicated case, Chris can find quickly and make a confident decision about how to best serve his client. Not only does he know the law, he understands what needs to be done and how to do it.

Communication Skills: Excellent

Chris explains very clearly to his clients what the strengths and weaknesses are of their case. He makes sure that everyone on his team and each of his clients know what the plan of action is and what the possible outcomes are. He is very clear about what needs to be done and exactly when it needs to be done. He has a calm confidence in his ability as a seasoned trial lawyer and this puts anyone who meets him in the best place they could be, in what is often a very stressful situation.

There is a lot to be excited about with Chris starting up a criminal defense, personal injury, and victim’s representation law firm in Nevada County and Folsom. I’ve worked with Chris Walsh in two different district attorney’s offices in California, and in both offices Chris was revered for his legal acumen and success as a trial lawyer. Chris worked for one of the top district attorney’s offices in California, namely Santa Clara County DA’s office, as a homicide prosecutor.

Beginning in 2017 for one summer. Then from February 2018 to July 2021.

Q. Was this lawyer an effective advocate/counselor and why?
Yes

He was the Chief DA of Nevada County where he single-handedly prosecuted the entire homicide case load for the county. Chris was regarded as the best attorney in Nevada County, as no other attorney in the county had his level of experience. Defense attorneys were afraid to go to trial against Chris Walsh and often ultimately pled their clients out, given Chris’ reputation as a hard-nosed prosecutor who was able to talk the talk and walk the walk.

Legal Knowledge: Excellent

In his 18 years of experience, Chris has done nearly 100 jury trials, of which he has won 10 homicide jury trials and 13 sexual assault jury trials. Chris also convicted hardcore gangsters to protect the public and won 18 gang jury trials. Chris has won Prosecutor of the Year Awards twice, in 2008 and 2012. Chris’ jury trial experience is second to none.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

Chris has great legal analysis, particularly the more serious cases such as homicides and sexual assault cases. Chris was the first in Nevada County to add a gang enhancement allegation and bring a grand jury indictment against out of state gang members for killing a citizen of Nevada County. As a matter of fact, Chris was the only attorney who had the experience and knowledge to handle such a complex case in Nevada County.

Communication Skills: Excellent

Chris is a good speaker and is easy to talk to. He did media press interviews while he was the supervising attorney at the DA's office.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

Most ethical prosecutor I know. He has a strong work ethic and is a true professional. Upon Chris’ departure from Nevada County to work for a law enforcement defense firm, Chris’ homicide case load was redistributed amongst five senior prosecutors for handling. Chris’ work ethic is unmatched. He is worth at least five experienced lawyers put together.
