Carmel Tajalli Kappus
I am admitted to practice law in New York State and Florida as well as federally in the Southern District of New York. My background includes involvement in the private, government, as well as non-profit sectors. My current practice focuses on litigating Child Victims Act, Products Liability, and General Negligence claims.
Previously, I represented hospitals, physicians, municipalities and other healthcare providers in litigating complex claims in the areas of medical liability, civil rights, and general negligence.
Prior to that, I was a Criminal Defense Attorney for the Legal Aid Society in Manhattan where I represented clients facing immediate criminal charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. I have extensive experience in the court room, representing clients in both bench and jury trials. In my previous position as an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County, I focused on the prosecution, litigation, and resolution of complex and intricate criminal matters involving domestic violence.
