- Q. What steps are needed for a U.S. citizen to marry an ecuadorian?
- A: Thank you for contacting our office. The main question I have is where are you both going to live once married. If in Ecuador, you need an Ecuadorian immigration attorney. If in the USA, you need a US immigration attorney. Does he want to move the children with him to the USA? Otherwise you would not need a sworn statement from the mother. I think you need to decide these things first and then contact the appropriate lawyer. If you have any questions, please contact me.
- Q. I'm a US Citizen and I want to petition my brother to come the USA but he's married. Can i still petition for him?
- A: As a U.S. citizen, you can petition for your brother. Whether his kid is included depends on whether he qualifies as a derivative. The waits for sibling petitions are very long so keep that in mind.
- Q. On my I-94 it said entry until April 2024 and class of admissions is DT. What is DT? What are my options I got married?
- A: DT is a parole and it stands for parole issued at Port of Entry. You state you are already married. As long as it is a real marriage and not just for immigration purposes you have a few options. Best to consult with an immigration attorney.
