Camila Alexandra McElwain
McElwain Law Firm, LLCI was born in Bogota, Colombia. I immigrated to the United States as a small child. I grew up in and around Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I became a naturalized United States Citizen when I was about 21. I joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 2000, and after 9/11, I spent more than two years on active duty tours. Fortunately, I was not deployed overseas and was able to remain state-side during my active duty tours. I met my husband through the military and moved to Mississippi when we got married. I received my Bachelor's in Business Management, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi. I received my Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law. While I was in my second year of law school, I did an internship at the Memphis Immigration Court, Executive Office for Immigration Review, where I learned about the intricacies of Immigration Law. During my last two years of law school, I worked as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Talmadge D. Littlejohn, Chancellor for the First Chancery Court District of Mississippi. Working for Judge Littlejohn taught me a great deal about family law and Chancery practice in general. After working for Judge Littlejohn, I worked for a small general practice firm in Tupelo, where I handled mainly family law, criminal law, and personal injury cases. After working at this firm, I decided to open up my own firm so that I could focus on Family Law, Immigration & Naturalization, and Personal Injury cases. I believe that the combination of my life experience, strong work ethic and commitment to service makes me a great lawyer. I am dedicated to each and every one of my clients and I strive to find the best possible solution to each client's unique case. I firmly believe in researching all possible avenues in order to achieve my clients' goals. I value my clients' time and money and do my best to provide reasonable rates and excellent service.
